Explorer is a scripting system for Unity that uses the Hierarchy and Inspector to set up simple events based on interactive triggers without writing any code. It should allow designers to focus on creating interesting spaces and stories, without having to program the mechanics and interactions.

When you make a GameObject interactive in the Explorer Framework, it creates several interaction hooks under the object within the scene hierarchy. You can add interactions directly to these hooks, causing things to happen when the player approaches, looks at, or clicks on objects in your scene.

Scripting through the Hierarchy in this way allows you to easily visualize, copy, and deactivate effects. This can dramatically speed up iteration time, making this a good prototyping tool. Explorer also incorporates variables and simple expressions, making it easy to develop the simple logic needed to run a basic first-person adventure or walking-simulator game.

This package does not yet include full documentation, but the walkthrough video should get you started. Email me at sbouchard@cinema.usc.edu with questions and comments.

Note: This version of the download for this tool includes some additional assets that the tool is dependent on: LoreSoft MathExpressions, TMPro, and a modified version of the Unity Standard Assets package.
